SUMMER SKIN CARE TIPS: PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN FOR SUMMER SKIN CARE

Summers are the worst time of the year. In my previous blog, I spoke about summer hair care but let’s not ignore summer skin care too. Skin gets most affected by the harmful UV rays of the sun and I’m sure skin tanning is something all of us have faced and our fearful of. Hence, avoid the skin tan this month by following these easy summer skin care tips.

  1. Avoid getting out for long periods during the hottest time

I know this might not be a convenient option but it is the best choice to avoid being out during the peak time of the day which is between 12:30pm to 3:30 pm. A lot of people are under the false perception that sunlight exposure makes you rich in Vitamin D. However, this is half true, only morning sunlight is rich in Vitamin D timed between 8:00am to 11:00 am. The afternoon heat is the worst time for skin exposure as it also leads to skin cancer. Hence while getting out during the afternoon make it a point to apply sunscreen or cover the skin with a scarf and glares.

  2. Sunscreen as the most important Summer Skin Care

Sunscreen HAS to be applied all around the year but during summers it’s an unavoidable compulsion. For the hot weather in India you should opt for a sunscreen of a SPF of 50. I suggest the Neutrogena Ultrasheer sunscreen cream for all skin types. The most important sunscreen tip is to apply it after every 4 hours as the sunscreen dries up very soon.

  3. Drink Lots of Water

During summers we usually face a lot of skin disturbances like pimple eruptions due to the heat. The best way to deal with it is by hydrating the skin internally. Drink at least 6 glasses of water in the entire day to maintain a cool temperature for your skin.
